SAFE ENCLOSURE

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

These are the verses of the Glorious Book, and yet most of them do not believe ‘this man’ well-prepared by Allah! Would that you understood! Have fear of Allah, and do not the bidding of transgressors who commit evil in the land and reform nothing! This Book was revealed by the Lord of Creation, and it was foretold in the Scriptures of the ancients! Think! Never have We destroyed a nation, whom We did not warn beforehand!

The unbelievers say: “This is but a forgery of his own invention, chained together!” ….. We have revealed it thus, and set a rampart between them, so that We may strengthen your faith! Would you be a guardian over them? Surely the unbeliever is his Lord’s enemy. The true servants of the Merciful are those who walk humbly on the earth, and who do not turn a blind eye and deaf ear to the revelations of their Lord when they are reminded of them!

But for Allah’s Grace and Mercy, this would have never been revealed to you! You carried with your tongues and uttered what your mouths did not know. You that are true believers, do you not wish Allah to forgive you? He is Forgiving and Merciful. Turn to Allah in repentance that you may prosper. Allah guides to His Light whom He will, and He notes the prayers and praises of all His creatures!

Allah creates what He pleases! Surely in this there is a lesson for ‘clear-sighted’ men. We have sent down revelations showing the Truth! Allah guides whom He will to a straight path. Those that revere Allah and fear Him, obey Allah and obey His Apostle. Allah has promised those of you who believe and do good works, to make them masters in the land as He made their ancestors before them. Thus Allah makes plain to you His Revelations in a ‘safe enclosure’ — yielding abundant fruit for your sustenance! Will you not take heed?

Noah said, We revealed Our will to him, but the ‘unbelieving elders’ of his people said: “This man is but an impostor, who tells of Allah what is untrue. We will never believe in him!” ….. Our scourge over took them in all justice, and We swept them away like withered leaves. After them We raised other generations and sent forth Our Apostles in succession. Yet time after time they disbelieved their Apostles, and thus incurred destruction!

Those who walk in the fear of their Lord, should they not heed the word of Allah? Or is it because they do not know ‘their Apostle’ that they deny him? He has proclaimed to them the Truth, but most of them abhor the Truth. They say what the ancients said before them!

He knows the visible and the unseen, indeed! Therefore listen to what shall be revealed, lest you perish! Take it up, and do not be alarmed! We will change it back to its former state! Blessed is he who follows the guidance of his Lord. He does not err! Surely there are signs in this for men of understanding. Liars will surely fail. It will swallow up their devices! Better is the reward of Allah, and more lasting — this! Those who reject it shall bear a heavy burden on the Day of Resurrection, and they will bear it forever. Thus We reward ‘the transgressor’ — who denies the Revelations of his Lord! Do not regard with envy the worldly benefits We bestow on some of them. Your Lord’s reward is better, and more lasting!

Truly man is ever impatient! Blessed shall be the end of the devout, so wait if you will — it will be to your advantage! The fate of each man We have bound about his neck. No soul shall bear another’s burden! Your Lord is well aware of His Servants’ sins, and your Lord best knows what is in your hearts! Your Lord gives abundantly to whom He wills, and sparingly to whom He pleases. That is fair! You cannot cleave the earth, nor can you rival the Mountains in stature. We have made plain Our revelations in this Qur’an so that the unbelievers may take warning. They will surely seek to dethrone him who will restore Us. We have Exalted some Prophets over others, nor can they change it! Your Lord is Merciful towards you — truly, ‘Truth’ has come and falsehood has been overthrown! Nothing prevents men from having faith when guidance is revealed to them but the excuse: “I can see that you are bewitched. You know full well, His Promise has been fulfilled!” ….. They fall down upon their faces, and let their hopes beguile them. They shall know the Truth, nor shall they retard it!
