THE MUNIFICENT ONE
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Allah is Compassionate and Merciful to you, and He has knowledge of all your actions! We have made plain to you ‘Our Revelations’ that you may ‘grow in Wisdom.’ Therefore strive heartily for the pardon of your Lord. Allah does not love the haughty, the vainglorious! He that gives no heed to this should know that Allah is Self-Sufficient, and worthy of all praise! We have sent Our Apostles with veritable signs and brought down with them the ‘Scales of Justice’ so that men might conduct themselves with fairness. We sent forth Noah and Abraham, and bestowed on their offspring Prophethood and the Scriptures. We rewarded only those who were True believers! Believers, have fear of Allah and put your trust in His Apostles! He will bestow on you a ‘light’ to walk in, and will forgive you. Allah’s bounty is ‘infinite’ — never ending! This ‘present generation’ — why do you not reflect? We have made it a reminder for men, inscribed in a ‘hidden Book’ which none may touch except the purified! ********** The ‘Hour of Doom’ is drawing near, and the moon is ‘cleft in two!’ We made ‘the flood’ a sign, but will any take heed? Aad denied their Apostle, and Thamud too! They said: “Are we to follow a man who ‘stands alone’ among us? Did he ‘alone’ among us receive this warning? He is indeed a ‘foolish’ liar!” ….. The people of Lot disbelieved Our warning! Lot had warned them of Our vengeance — and at daybreak, a heavy scourge overtook them! Will you not take warning? This is an inspired revelation! Your Lord knows best who have strayed from His Path, and who are ‘rightly guided.’ He knows best those who guard themselves against evil. The Prophet who warns you now, is not unlike the Prophets of old, and they will converse with one another by the grace of Allah! Do they say, he has invented it himself? Are they seeking to ruin you? — for they have done good works on earth! ‘You’ contradict ‘yourselves!’ ********** What is your errand? ‘We’ are sent to a wicked nation! Allah Alone is the Munificent Giver, the Mighty One. Those that now do wrong shall meet their predecessors’ doom! They denied the doom when it was preached to them. And now they are perplexed! Every opponent of good works, and every doubting transgressor who has set up another god besides Allah, have We destroyed before them. Surely in this there is a lesson for every man who has a heart and ears and eyes! Allah will bring to nothing the deeds of those who disbelieve and debar others from His Path! But He has ordained it thus that He might test you believers. Do the feeble-hearted think that Allah will not reveal their malice? He will frustrate ‘their works’ — its signs have already come. Indeed this Book is revealed by Allah! The unbelievers say: “He has invented it himself!” ….. He is Our all-sufficient witness, and truly this Book confirms it! Have faith, and answer the call of Allah’s summoner, and believe in him! Is not this real? By the Lord, those who deride Our Revelations when they have ‘scarcely heard them’ — shall be put to a shameful punishment! Follow it, and do not yield to the lusts of ‘ignorant men.’ For they can in no way protect you from the wrath of Allah! It is He Who will gather you all on the Day of Resurrection. Those who have denied His Revelations, shall assuredly be lost. As for those who do ‘good works’ — their Lord will admit them into His Mercy!
