MERCIFUL DISPENSATION
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful We gave Moses the Scriptures and Knowledge of right and wrong, but the wrong-doers perverted Our words! Because they were rebels and transgressors, We made a covenant with you. Yet after that you turned away. But for Allah’s grace and mercy you would have surely been among the lost. Do therefore, as you are ‘bidden’ — that you may grow in understanding. Allah is not unaware of what you do! This is from Allah! Can you believe in one part of the Scriptures and deny another — ‘grudging’ that He should reveal His bounty to whom He chooses of His Servants? If you are ‘true believers’ — take what We have given you with willing hearts! Allah is the enemy of the unbelievers. Take heed, he that barters Faith for unbelief, has strayed far from the path! Those to whom We have given the Book, and who read it as it ought to be read, truly believe in it! As for those who do not — ‘evil’ shall be their fate. Take it from Us, ‘submit!’ We make ‘no distinction’ among any of them, therefore never doubt it. They are ‘alive’ and they who disagree about it are in schism! ********** Believers, this is a ‘Merciful Dispensation’ from your Lord! A Book of Guidance, distinguishing right from wrong! Allah knew that you were deceiving yourselves, and thus He makes known His revelations to mankind that they may guard themselves against evil. The righteous man is he who fears Allah! If you cannot — ‘know’ that He is ‘stern in retribution’ and know that you ‘shall be gathered’ before Him! Allah does not love evil, and Allah knows the just from the unjust! He will not call you to account for that which is unintentional in your oaths, but He will take you to task for that which is intended in your hearts! Those who transgress the bounds of Allah are wrong-doers. Do not ‘make game’ of Allah’s Revelations! Allah ‘knows’ but you know not! Have fear of Allah, and know that He is cognizant of all your actions! Therefore take heed and bear in mind that Allah is forgiving and lenient. ‘Stand up’ with ‘all devotion’ before Allah — ‘that is incumbent’ on righteous men. Therein is tranquility from your Lord if you are true believers, for He is ‘the Most High’ and ‘the Supreme!’ As for ‘the unbelievers’ — such men are like a rock ‘covered’ with earth, blasted and consumed by a ‘fiery whirlwind!’ Believers shall be rewarded by their Lord, but he that pays ‘no heed’ shall be consigned to Hell-fire, and shall remain in it forever!
