ISHMAEL AND ISAAC

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Praised be Allah, the Mighty One — Who Hears, Sees, and Knows all things! All the Prophets have been slandered and vilified. Never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. Indeed, Allah sees all their wickedness and He will Judge them! Indeed We gave Abraham his consciousness of what is Right and bestowed upon him Ishmael and Isaac!

O Ishmael speak! ….. Have you heard that which my father has spoken concerning sacrifice? Take heed! I am his firstborn, Ishmael, and has been faithful in his House and has done all that he desired of me. O Mankind! Would you cause the soul of your only son to perish from the earth? Know and understand that this cannot be from Allah! The Lord wills not such evil on earth, as to say to you: “Go slaughter your child!” ….. It is Satan’s advocates who did this to draw you aside from the Commandments of Allah and accounted it as if it was Isaac who was to be made an offering! We go by the Commands of Allah! Who can transgress His Word?

O Isaac is this true? ….. There is nothing in my heart to cause me to deviate, either to the right or left — from the word he has spoken to you! Do not you turn from the right way either, that it may be well with you and your children after you. Turn not from the Commandments of Allah, and serve not anyone besides Him!

O Children of Israel! You speak falsely and utter lies! What is this you have done to Us? What is this work that you have been doing in saying, Sarah said unto Abraham: “Cast out this bondwoman, and her son, for he shall not be heir with my son Isaac!” …… seeing you were not there? She said unto me: “The Lord blessed Ishmael!” ….. He is my brother! They gave me goodness and wisdom and truth — for all three spoke as with one voice!

Of what use is the birthright to me? The records of the Law of birthrights are written and says: If a man has two wives and both bare him sons, he is not to show favoritism to a son over the firstborn, for he is the first issue of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his! …..

O John! Let the spirit of Sarah be set forth, and God-willing, the spirit of festering shall vanish! ….. “What is this thing you have done? What were you thinking of when you did this thing? Who would have said to Abraham: “Cast out this maidservant, with her son!” ….. I do not know who has done this thing, and I have not heard of it until Today! John, you are a mighty prince before Us — justify the just by the Truth! When the breed of iniquity is shut up — Wickedness shall perish, and Righteousness shall be revealed!”
