GOOD NEWS AND A WARNING
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Blessed be Allah, Who sent down these Revelations to His Servant — and determined its measure! Those who disbelieve say: “Why is it not revealed to him all at once? This is nothing but a lie that he made up!” ….. They have committed an injustice! We reveal it in stages in order to strengthen your hearts. They are dictated to him morning and evening, and revealed by He Who Knows! It is Him to whom belongs the Kingdom of Heaven and Earth! He has never had a partner in His Kingdom, yet instead of Him, they produce for themselves gods who create nothing — false deities who have no power to harm or benefit themselves! And no power over Life and Death, nor Resurrection. In fact these deniers have denied the Hour, that is upon your Lord a binding Promise! On that Day the wrongdoers will bite their hands and say: “If only I had followed the way, with the Messenger!” ….. O John! Do they not see it? You assume that most of them hear and understand, and that they might reflect! But most of them persist in thanklessness. They have denied you and what you say, because they have grown arrogant within themselves — defiant! Whoever does that will face penalties on the Day of Resurrection! Except for those who repent, Allah will replace their bad deeds with good deeds. Allah is ever Forgiving, and Merciful. So be patient — your Lord is always Observing! ********** The disbeliever has always turned his back on his Lord! We sent you only as a herald of Good News and a Warner, yet it increases their aversion. Whoever desires to reflect and show gratitude — walk the earth with humility, and do not implore besides Allah any other god, and do not kill the Soul, which Allah has made Sacred! O you who have denied the Truth! These are the Verses of a Clear Book! No fresh Reminder comes from the Most Merciful, but you turn your backs to it — denying the Truth. Do you not hear this Messenger of yours, who was sent to you? Surely he is your Leader! He will guide you and make you inheritors of Paradise! Come with a sound heart, and Paradise will be brought near, for Allah, your Lord is Almighty and Merciful! O John! Say: “I was of those astray, but my Lord gave me Wisdom, and made me one of His Messengers! So fear Allah, and obey me. I am to you a faithful Messenger, and I ask you no payment for it! I shall receive my reward from the Lord. Do not obey the Transgressors — who spread corruption and reform nothing! If you are Truthful, my Lord is well aware of what you do, He is the All-Knower, All-Aware! It is not the devils who revealed this — it is not in their interest nor benefit! And do not pray to another god with Allah, else you will be of those who are Punished — warn your close relatives! As for those who do Wrong — Terrible is their End!” …..
