A WISE REMINDER
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Your companion is not astray, nor is he deceived! He is taught by one Mighty and Powerful. How can you doubt what he sees? He has revealed to you the Book with Truth — ‘confirming’ what went before it. Some of its verses are ‘precise’ in meaning, and others ‘allegorical.’ It is ‘all’ from Our Lord, but only the wise take heed! How could anybody who did not know ‘these things’ say that he had been instructed? Allah invested no authority in them! They follow nothing but conjecture, and what their own souls desire. Even though there has come to them Guidance from their Lord. Allah does support with His Aid, whom He pleases! He is the Executor of Justice, and Master of the Kingdom! Allah gives to whom He pleases ‘without measure’ and when He decrees a plan, He need only say: “Be!” ….. We are the Helpers of Allah, and this We recite to you is a ‘Revelation’ and a ‘Wise Reminder’ — a mention of the Mercy of the Lord to His Servant, Zakariya! Behold he cried to his Lord ‘in secret’ saying: “O my Lord, I fear my relatives after me, and since my wife is barren, grant me ‘an heir’ from Thy Presence — one who will represent me, and represent ‘the posterity’ of Jacob, and who will find grace in Your Sight.” ….. “O Zakariya, accepted is your prayer. His name shall be John! He shall be a sign to mankind, it is a matter decreed. Their sight and hearing shall be sharpened, when the matter shall be fulfilled. Such is the decree of your Lord!” ….. ********** The king is born as appointed, yet of this they have no knowledge! Does he know and can he see what is hidden? Is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses and of Abraham? None but Allah could disclose it! Some of the People of the Book say to one another: “Do not believe that anyone will be given the like of that which you have been given.” ….. Give no heed! That is ‘the sum’ of their knowledge. They have a covering which is false, and yet do not discover it, because they are carried away by untruth! Grace is in the Hands of Allah, and He bestows it on whom He pleases! Obtain the True Knowledge, please! Indeed this is from Allah. While you amuse yourselves — the Hour is drawing near, and the moon ‘is cleft asunder!’ Every matter has its ‘appointed time’ so We opened the Gates of Heaven — a recompense for one who had been rejected and whom We saved at ‘the last watch’ of the night! He himself is indeed seen in all these, just as We are — well adorned! He knows it, and has shaken off all evil. We are a Victorious Army, and truly those in sin are the ones straying in mind, and mad!
